「教會改革計畫」公眾募資
我的第一份國際學術論文是在倫敦大學亞非學院辦的【酷兒亞洲研討會】，題目是〈台灣同志友善教會的後殖民酷兒批判〉(2016)。兩篇我的文章，〈二次賣妓女喇合〉及〈取巧者的公義〉，將收錄在《人性Ⅲ：酷兒「釋」經》於香港出版(2018)。透過翻譯《聾人解放神學》(2016)與《手語之愛：聾人事工指南》(2018)參與聾人事工。現在正在構思台灣酷兒聖經註釋的計畫。
目前我是「2018年教會改革計畫領導培訓」的成員之一。「教會改革計畫」致力於以聖經為基礎、推動全國教會接納LGBTQ族群以及種族平等與公義。透過每年舉辦各地的小型聚會以及全美的研討會，彼此分享各地的處境以及如何從聖經的詮釋當中尋求改革教會的機會。而這個培訓計畫在今年由34位不同背景的組成，透過對福音派聖經的詮釋進行解構、對草根運動與組織的討論、對族群及背景差異與聖經文化交織的討論，以及透過募款邀請有志參與教會改革的朋友們一起來參與這項行動。
我在去年參加年會之後寫了一篇簡要的報導，並認同這個組織的理念，也希望透過實際參與這個組織的培訓，將台灣的處境帶到當中，與大家思考台灣的教會普遍流行毒害同志的聖經及倫理觀點，是如何受到北美保守勢力的影響，並尋找自我解放與解殖之道。

Charing Wei-Jen Chen is a Taiwanese doctoral student focusing on the queer interpretation of the Hebrew scripture at the Chicago Theological Seminary. He holds a Master of Divinity from Tainan Theological College and Seminary where he was valedictorian of his class (2014). Charing is also a social reformer in Taiwan where he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Tainan Chapter of the Taiwan Green Party (2015) and spokesperson of the Kaohsiung Pride Parade (2015). He is presently the chief secretary of the first Taiwanese LGBTQ-friendly academic institute, Taiwan Hesed Association.
He delivered his first international academic paper “Queer Postcolonial Critiques of LGBT-inclusive Churches in Taiwan” at Queer Asia 2016 Conference (SOAS, University of London). His newest articles concerning postcolonial feminist reading on Rehab and the trickery justice of the oppressed will be collected in Sexual/Being III (Hong Kong, 2018). He has also participated in deaf liberation theology (2016) and ministry (2018) via translation and is now working on the draft of a Taiwanese queer biblical commentary.

The Reformation Project devotes to LGBTQ inclusion through the biblical interpretation and racial-ethnical analysis, especially toward the deconstruction of evangelical toxic thoughts. I am glad to be a member of 2018 Leadership Cohort. I will learn how to deconstruct the toxic thoughts, improve diverse understandings, and grass-roots movement and organization. I would like to share what I knew from Taiwan’s context with my 34 colleagues from all around the world. The conservative evangelical materials and thoughts are damaging the soul and dignity of LGBTQ Christians and the nation. The fundraising is part of the training that I could share my learning and vision with all of you and invite allies to join this plan. Your support is important to this project.
